Shark Information

Sharks are a species of fish that has been around for 400 Million years. Over 30,000 species are known. They have made it through a few extinctions and they have evolved in such a way that they are still hear millions of years later. There are so many species of sharks. They're dorsal fin sharks, filter feeding, deep-sea, flattened bottom dwellers, angel sharks, reef sharks, wedged shaped, epaulette sharks, and cookie cutter sharks just to name a few. They live in all different parts of the oceans and seas. Although sharks have never sought out humans as prey, we truly resemble prey the most when we are on boogie boards and surf boards. Sharks normally come from underneath to capture their prey, they are stalkers and like to ambush their prey. They are nocturnal which means they really love to hunt at night time. Dusk and Dawn are they're prime feeding times. Sharks are normally not aggressive, although one would think so because they are attacking more often in these times. They're aggressive species by nature but others are so cautious or shy that you never know they are close to you, or humans on local beaches.

The first sharks were created 500 million years ago. These rough skinned animals were truly ahead of their time they were an animal that many hadn't seen or had any information on yet. They weren't all the size of Megalodon, They're so many that were so small, that they could fit in your hand. Along with the sharks are, the skates, rays and chimaeras. Sharks has cartilage and not bones so it is really all one big muscle. We have a great idea of what lived in the ocean millions of years ago. That is what we are all here for, Shark Teeth. For every inch is 10 feet. So if a 2 inch Great White tooth is found. That shark would have been 20 feet. When a 7 inch Megaldon Tooth is found you have an idea.... Yep over 70 feet Long!
